A tennis game where camera is always static, which means whether you're on one side of the net or the other, the camera will always show both players from the same angle, which seems like a platform game. You can play a single match or full tournament, as well as resume if you achieved some points while playing before. You can play against computer AI or another player on the same computer, or you can select DEMO for computer(s) to demonstrate you the game.

Description from the packaging:

The most realistic computer tennis game ever made!
Accolade is known for its breakthrough sports simulations. Now, Accolade presents Serve & Volley - the only computer tennis simulation that truly captures the essence of the game.

Serve & Volley gives you the action and strategy of real tennis with...
Full tennis court 3-D view with action windows displaying Accolades unique Strobe-o-Scope graphics.
Three levels of tennis play; beginner, intermediate & advanced.
Three different court surfaces: grass, clay and pavement.
Full complement of strokes: top spin, slice, smash, lob, volley, forehand and backhand.
Match or tournament play with players seeded at each level.
One player vs. computer or two player action.

Adjustment of playing attributes including endurance vs. speed; accuracy vs. power; forehand vs. backhand.
Option to save players' stats: the computer can play a match according to any two players stats while you watch.

Even the royalty of center court can get dethroned by an unseeded phenom. But it will take more than strength, speed and stamina. You'll need the tenacity, mental toughness and court savvy of a wily veteran to rise above the top-ranked contenders.
That's life on the tour. That's Serve & Volley.
Serve and Volley comes with 3 open courts and no waiting. ( Sure beats the club, eh?) Choose match or tournament play, the difficulty level, sets per match, even the court type (clay, grass or pavement).
Want to serve with accuracy and power? Serve & Volleys exclusive Strobe-O-Stroke graphics give you the advantage. The animated boxes allow you to aim your serve and select the shot type (top-spin, slice, etc.).

How will you return the serve? Forehand or backhand? Lob or smash? In serve and volley not only is timing critical - you've got to make split second decisions. Hear the ball smack the racquet. If you're on, you'll hit a winner. If you're off, you'll flail at air.
